Kentucky-Tennessee Mission Song

Surfing around the web I happened upon this song. No real indication of the tune it was sung to, but I wondered if any of you had heard this before and if your mission had a song.

KENTUCKY-TENNESSEE MISSION SONG
(President George D. Durrant)

'Twas in Kentucky and Tennessee
My Heavenly Father called me to serve;
I met great people, the choicest ever
And formed new friendships so dear to me.
Kentucky and Tennessee was where I labored
To carry forward the Word of God.
Doors ever opened by kindly people,
Brothers and sisters so dear to me.
Those blessed memories of old Kentucky
And Tennessee thou art dear to me.
Green hills and valleys are ever calling
My mission home so dear to me.

President Durrant served as the mission president in Kentucky and Tennessee from the summer of 1972 through 1975. I had the opportunity to serve closely with him through the summer of 1973. I don't remember this song, which may be because of 1) he hadn't written the song yet, 2) he hadn't popularized it yet, or 3) I'm getting really, really old and can't remember things.

No one here will call you old, so I will go with "he hadn't written it yet".

Where in the mission did you serve?

I remember it and can still sing it. Don't know the name of the tune. I served November 1972 thru November 1974. Great mission (they all are)!

Thanks Scott.
Are you brave enough to record yourself singing it on an MP3 file and send me a copy?

Actually, the song was made during President William H Day's tenure 69-72 (His funeral is tomorrow in SLC).

Was actually created during previous mission president's tenure (William H Day).

Are you the Scott Peterson that served with Randy Moeck in Lexington?
