Making contacts

I have recently made a number of contacts to distant cousins. All of course made possible by the internet in general and specifically email. Yesterday it was a cousin through Moses Curtis, who is my 4th great grandfather. I guess that means this contact is my 5th cousin. I'm sure I have many 5th cousins, but when she responded "Hi Cousin", it was touching. Add to that how were were both interested in the lives of people now dead for almost 150 years, and it gets exciting. It reminds me of why I started this blog. Personal journy and all that. I hope that I continue to get that excited feeling about history (personal, family, and church) every time I find a new link in the story.
